A miracle cure

I was diagnosed with stage IV melanoma and had three tumors removed from my lung and brain. My doctors told me that there was nothing they could do further, "go home and die", I had three or four months! I searched the web and found Cassie's book and took Essiac for a year. I am still alive 12 years later. I have given the book to anyone with cancer who will try it. In spite of doctors it seems to work.

My PSA was 5.4 and my physician could not lower it. Essiac lowered it to 0.00 where it has remained. I continue to take Essiac and will take it the remainder of my life. It worked wonders for me, and it will for others who take the liquid from Canada.

A MUST READ!!!

I learned a great deal from this book. Dang shame Big Pharma, the FDA, and the AMA would much rather continue making money off of sickness and other terminal diseases, instead of ACTUALLY trying to cure people. But those of us that know better, realize there have to be other alternatives to treatment (besides the conventional treatments), and continue doing research. THANK YOU, Rene Caisse, for all of your hard work and dedication to the health of others!

Fantastic Reporting - A Must Read!

This is one of the most impressive pieces of journalism I've read in as long as I can remember. The story is fascinating and the Ars team does a wonderful job of presenting it. I would call it my favorite cyber thriller / spy novel, but (unfortunately) it happens to be true... which is terrifying.

I also found the level of depth to be perfect. Although I am only slightly more technologically knowledgeable than average (at least in my opinion), the two articles that detailed Anon's and HBGary's various "hacking" methodologies were both easy to follow and very enlightening. Before I was even halfway finished reading, I decided it was time to finally get a password manager and change all my passwords to very long, secure, strings of nonsense.

If this book doesn't become the basis for a movie script within the next year, I will eat my hat! Well done, Ars!

Excellent Journalism

ArsTechnica does a fantastic job of chronicling the Anonymous/HBGary saga over the course of a number of articles. Every piece is well written, detailed, and informative. If you have any interest in the impact an anonymous collection of individuals can have, or the types of organizations the US government contracts with, you owe it to yourself to read this book.

Good write-up, lots of repeat info

I followed along with the Anon attacks while they were happening so most of this book was review for me. It is simply a collection of all the Ars articles pertaining to the HBGary Federal fiasco. Some of the articles overlap a lot and you will find yourself covering the same material, but each author has a unique viewpoint which makes the entire book a good read.

About the Author
Marilyn Miller is a graduate of Florida Southern College with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She earned a master’s degree in forensic chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh and a Doctorate in Education from Johnson & Wales University in post-secondary educational leadership. Miller is a tenured, associate professor in the Department of Forensic Science at Virginia Commonwealth University. As a post-secondary educator for almost twenty years, she teaches a wide variety of forensic science and crime scene investigation classes to both forensic science and criminal justice majors at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is a Fellow in the Criminalistics section of the American Academy of Forensic Science, the Southern Association of Forensic Scientists and the American Chemical Society. Miller is a former faculty member at the University of New Haven and the Henry Lee Institute of Forensic Science/ National Crime Scene Training Center. She has presented and taught as part of hundreds of forensic seminars across the United States and foreign countries. She is the author or co-author for several textbooks or chapters concerning crime scene investigation or reconstruction and forensic science. Before coming to VCU, she worked as a supervisor and forensic scientist for law enforcement agencies in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Florida. She has testified over 400 times in county, state and federal courts of law as an expert witness in the field of forensic sciences and crime scene reconstruction. She has participated in hundreds of crime scene investigations, both as an active investigator. Currently, she also serves as a consultant for both prosecutors and defense attorneys. Miller designed, opened and operated crime scene units and forensic laboratories on the West Coast of Florida for over ten years.

About the Author

Dr. Matthew Ganis, a member of IBM’s Academy of Technology, is currently an IBM Senior Technical Staff Member located in Somers, New York. His current areas of interest include social media analytics, the Internet of Things, and Agile software methodologies. He is an adjunct professor of computer science and astronomy at Pace University in Pleasantville, New York, where he teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Dr. Ganis holds a BS degree in computer science and an MBA in information systems from Pace University, an MS degree in astronomy from the University of Western Sydney, Australia, and a doctorate of professional studies in computing from Pace University. He has authored or co-authored over 40 papers in both of his fields of interest, ranging from programming techniques, computer system administration, computer networking, and topics on stellar evolution and radio astronomy. He is also the proud coauthor of A Practical Guide to Distributed Scrum published by IBM Press.

In his 30-year career at IBM, he has been responsible for a number of technological advances such as the creation of the first enterprise firewalls for IBM; the creation of highly available World Wide Web platforms to support the Atlanta, Sydney, and Nagano Olympics (which secured Dr. Ganis and his team a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the highest sustained rate of Internet web traffic); and the proliferation of advanced software development techniques across IBM’s worldwide development laboratories.

Avinash Kohirkar is currently Manager of Social Business Adoption in IBM. Here the enterprising protagonists create a utopian counter-Athens, called Cloudcuckooland, ruled by birds. Lysistrata blends boisterous comedy and an earnest call for peace. Lysistrata, our first comic heroine, organizes a panhellenic conjugal strike of young wives until their husbands end the war between Athens and Sparta. Athenian women again take center stage in Women at the Thesmophoria, this time to punish Euripides for portraying them as wicked. Parody of Euripides' plots enlivens this witty confrontation of the sexes.

The author does a great job of translating the cultural idioms of the aristophanes ...

The author does a great job of translating the cultural idioms of the aristophanes day in a contemporary account that the reader can understand without losing too much of the unique style from the greek original. that being said it is hard to translate someone as unique as aristophanes but the author does a great job at translating the greek words aristophanescreated (combined from 2 words usually) to comic effect and explains such in the context notes. Good read

Excellent tranlsations of Aristophanes's plays

Very nice translations and Oh! it is a glory to be able to read the old Greek documents as I had to learn 40 or more years ago. I love them. And who doesn't love an anti-war play (Lysistrata) with lots of sexual connotations for fun!
